What would my blog be (or my life, for that matter) without a big ol’ slice of Geronimo pie?!
Geronimo is a five-year-old red heeler/border collie/Austrailian shepherd mix! Geronimo was a pound puppy that we’ve had for almost his entire life. I honestly can’t image what our family would be like without him!
When Stephen and I first moved in together, I secretly made it a requirement that any apartment we live in be pet friendly even though we didn’t have a dog at that time. Stephen was working at a vet’s office, and I was constantly drooling over dogs on petfinder. Not long after we moved in together, we decided to go to the local animal shelter to just look. We found an adorable little Chihuahua. We had to fill out paperwork and planned to return the following day to pick her up. When we returned, we discovered she had been given to someone else! Gasp!
Still determined to bring home a four legged friend, we fell to the charms of a puppy they’d just brought in. He was so small and fluffy. My heart melted at the sight of his little round belly. We decided that we weren’t really chihuahua people anyway, and Geronimo came home with us that day!
Geronimo’s likes:
- Greenies (green beans)
- Chewy (a toy that came in a happy meal)
- Bunnies
- Balls
- Belly rubs
- Laying on cold tile
- Breath spray
Geronimo’s dislikes:
- Construction noise
- Sleeping alone
- Getting yelled at
- Being hairy

Could he be any cuter?!?!
He looks like so much fun! I just wanna give him a big ole hug and toss a ball
I can’t wait to get home to my two boxers. I just adore them
He’s really, really adorable, and what a great training partner! So glad that you got him from a shelter, too (I volunteered at an animal shelter and there could never be enough adoptions).
…and then my worlds collided. I just read this http://germanyja.com/2013/04/oconus-to-conus-and-my-little-dog-too.html a couple of weeks ago and almost commented on it. Then I came across this and thought, “Geronimo was that other dog’s name…could it be the same person?”
